VILLA C

The interior restoration of this unique villa is a masterful tribute to the work of renowned architect Axel Ghyssaert, blending the original design vision with contemporary sensibilities. The villa’s transformation preserves its architectural heritage while elevating its features through thoughtful updates that enhance both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Every element of the restoration has been carefully selected to honor the villa’s history while infusing it with a fresh, modern elegance.

A key aspect of the design is the use of cork, mirror glass, and striking black-and-white accents, which come together to create a remarkable yet coherent environment. The cork provides a natural warmth and texture, balancing the sleekness of the mirror glass, which reflects light and creates a sense of spaciousness throughout the villa. The black-and-white color scheme ties everything together, providing a timeless and sophisticated foundation that complements both the architectural elements and the new furnishings. The resulting space is a harmonious blend of materials that feels both modern and welcoming, with each detail contributing to the overall atmosphere of understated luxury.
One of the standout features of the restoration is the inclusion of the Flow Chairs by Jean Marie Massaud for MDF Italia. These chairs not only add a contemporary touch to the interior but also serve as a nod to the vintage Tulip Chairs by Eero Saarinen, which were an iconic part of the villa's interior before the restoration. The Flow Chairs’ organic, fluid design echoes the spirit of Saarinen’s original creations, honoring the villa's mid-century roots while providing a fresh update that aligns with the current design ethos. The juxtaposition of the old and the new creates a dynamic tension within the space, reinforcing the villa’s legacy while embracing modern design sensibilities.

The entire restoration process has resulted in a space that feels both timeless and forward-thinking, a true reflection of the villa’s rich architectural history and its seamless integration into the present day. It stands as a perfect example of how thoughtful restoration can breathe new life into a historic space, ensuring that its beauty and relevance endure for years to come.
