The transformation of the Leopoldskazerne in Ghent shows how architecture can help revive a historic building. Once a military barracks, now a lively city neighbourhood with housing, a Provincial House, a hotel and an inviting city square. The design respects the barracks' rich past while making it ready for the future. And the facade plays a key role in that.

Two different ISIS point profiles were used for the cladding of this project: ISIS 33 and ISIS 79. Together, both profiles create a subtle dynamic and harmony. To create a perfect match with the window frames, we developed a unique colour: V543. This is finished with the durable Authentic 35 coating, which is not only aesthetically strong but also guarantees long-lasting quality. The result is a modern look that respects and enhances the authenticity of the building.

The façade has given the Leopold Barracks a contemporary identity while preserving its historic architecture.
