Designed in 1953, the D.153.1 armchair was part of the furnishings in Gio Ponti’s private residence on Via Dezza in Milan. This re-edition by Molteni&C is based on the original drawings from the Ponti Archives.

Featuring a brass frame, it is available in a two-tone white-blue leather or the “Punteggiato” fabric, which Ponti designed for Rubelli in 1934. The fabric modernizes the traditional velvet-weaving technique, incorporating contemporary patterns with closely spaced, staggered disks in varying color gradients. Presented at the 2012 Salone del Mobile, the D.153.1 chair is a distinguished addition to the Gio Ponti Collection.
