Cookie Shop

Located on a bustling commercial street in Toronto, this design aims to create a simple yet visually memorable customer experience for a popular downtown cookie shop. The grab-and-go concept strategically distinguishes a concise and efficient customer journey from the busy bakery operations behind the scenes, while offering patrons a glimpse into the cookie-making process.

At the heart of the design is an implied circular gesture that establishes a formal tangential relationship with the side walls of the space. This form is meant to catch the attention of passersby, but also attempts to guide customers seamlessly through the stages of their visit—from browsing the menu to ordering, payment, and pick-up. Above, a curved storage bulkhead echoes this element, framing the customer-staff interface to create a more intimate moment of interaction.

The curved features are clad in plywood, with a custom pink stain inspired by the shop’s branding identity, also designed by StudioAC. These soft pink curves are juxtaposed with a stainless-steel counter and soffit, creating a sharp contrast between the customer-facing area and the bakery. Additionally, the shop’s packaging is designed to reinforce this identity, featuring a gradient of the same pink that, when stacked, contributes to the store’s visual appeal.
