The Site Gesture!
Using the buildings site to interact with the public streets surrounding the plot on the front site of the Villa. Using maximum openness to the garden backside of the villa.

A over 50m long wall separates front from back. The wall contains multiple functions of the villa. Some related to the public side (entry, garage, barn) of the building others more private. Like the porches en connections to the main kitchen. Using patio’s and wooden schutters in the wall to seek interaction between the private and public realm.

Floating Volume
Using the dark Hagemeister brick for the topfloor volume it appears to be floating on the glas walls and plato wood curtains like groundfloor cladding.
Extraordinary refined detail to where the front of the topfloor is cut open en materials go from brickwork to aluminum.
Glass curtain walls on east, west and south contain outdoor shutters sunblocks which are invisible  behind the brickwork when not in use.
Brickwork covers the ceiling of the cantilever, beautifully aligned with the bricks on the facades.
Hidden windows on the topfloor, no windowframes to be found, there all behind the brickwork.
