This apartment, designed by architects Carolina Rauen and Larissa Garbers, from the firm Rauen Garbers Arquitetura, has a 360º view, with emphasis on Barigui Park, in Curitiba, capital of the state of Paraná, Brazil. With 540m², being in the “Sabbia” apartment is like feeling the city permeating the architecture. The project has two floors: the social area on the lower floor and the intimate area on the upper floor.
For the design of the project, since the building's architecture is made up of a glass skin, a cold material, the office used natural wood for the joinery and furniture, as well as various weaves and textures. These elements undoubtedly made the apartment very cozy, one of the main objectives of the project and the client. On the moodboard, American Carvalho was chosen as the protagonist. The tone of the wood was carefully worked to achieve the perfect color palette, maintaining the lightness of the spaces.
This architecture is both timeless and rich in details. where every coating and fitting was designed in the best way. Natural lighting is one of the highlights of the property, and the architects knew how to exploit this to create contrasts of light and shadow that reflect on the architecture. Added to natural lighting, the lighting project enhances each environment even more.
At the entrance to the apartment, the architects thought of a layout that allows interaction between different spaces, where cooking, receiving and enjoying wine are all integrated into a single large environment. In search of the best solutions, they created a gourmet space that was completely different from the construction company's original project, aligned with the layout of the apartment, with a contemporary plan and greater fluidity between spaces.
The gourmet has an imposing 4 meter monolithic bench, made of stone suitable for daily use. The bench was created in two heights: a lower part, equipped with chairs for everyday use, and a higher part, with stools for moments of relaxation. The barbecue, with glass sides and front, is fully motorized.
With a ceiling height of 6 meters and the most privileged view, the living room is the highlight of the apartment. The furniture curation includes iconic pieces of Brazilian design, using different materials and textures, creating a composition of earthy tones that contrast elegantly with the light tones of the floor and wood.
From an aesthetic point of view, the elegance of white kitchens is unquestionable. This one, in particular, is even more special, as all the doors are made from Italian Cinex glass. To create a contrast with the white exterior, a dark graphite tone was chosen for the interior of the cabinets, giving the furniture a difference.
The hardware was selected to optimize the use of spaces. The kitchen has several accessories and unique hardware, both for storage and to make everyday life easier, including drawers with internal lighting, retractable doors to store portable appliances, vertical pantries and automated tilting doors.
The "vendinha", made up of suspended boxes with a rack system, allows the customer to adjust the boxes to the height they prefer, optimizing space and facilitating everyday use. As there wasn't much space available for a conventional cabinet, the architects developed a system of boxes fitted into a wooden panel, which can be removed and used on the benches.
The suite, with a stunning view of the city, is an invitation to relaxation and contemplation. The bed, strategically positioned to enjoy the urban landscape, is the center of attention. American oak wood, a noble and timeless material, gives the suite an air of sophistication and elegance. A perfect urban retreat for those looking for the best in design and comfort. The bed panel stands out for its organic design and combines perfectly with the headboard, which has curved sides.
