Accelerator 

Accelerator on the Utrecht Science Park is a sustainable multi-tenant building for start-ups and established companies in life sciences. Main users are Genmab and Merus, innovative biotech companies developing cancer therapies.

life sciences  
The building stands on a prominent spot along the access road to the Utrecht Science Park, where knowledge institutes, research institutes and companies cooperate to find new solutions in the field of life sciences and health. cepezed also designed the research buildings for Danone and Genmab on this campus.

Accelerator is a development of Kadans Science Partner, specialist in the field of accommodation for the knowledge-intensive sector on and around science parks and university campuses.

transparent plinth  
The Accelerator building, which comprises more than 22,000 m², provides space for office functions, but also contains laboratories. In addition, there is an auditorium for 250 people, meet & greet facilities and general facilities such as a car park, conference centre and restaurant in the transparent plinth.

Accelerator has flexible floor plans, and its carefully detailed communal areas and abundant natural light create a pleasant, healthy working environment. The floor-to-ceiling plant wall in the atrium is an eye-catcher.

The super-efficient use of materials, in combination with 420 solar panels on the roof, water-saving toilets, parking spaces with charging points, heat pumps, and an aquiver (heat storage), has ensured that the building has been certified BREEAM Excellent.

ready for use  
Accelerator was completed in early April of 2022. Next up, the main tenants Genmab and Merus moved into the offices and laboratories. One of Accelerator's most attractive details belongs to the Genmab floors: a spiral staircase made of thin, white-coated sheet steel.
